The following is a list of independent organisations that help and support small and medium size businesses.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is the UK's largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms. 

The British Chamber of Commerce provides management support for all business through local Chambers of Commerce.

The British Retail Consortium is the lead and the only trade association which covers the whole of the retail industry.

The Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) is a network for people and organisations involved in small business and entrepreneurship research, policy, education, support and advice.

The Forum of Private Business is a proactive business support organisation focused on the growth and profitability of small businesses through their Get Britain Trading campaign.

Businss in the Community (BITC) is the Prince’s Responsible Business Network providing a range of services, practical guidance and creative solutions that help businesses review, improve, measure and report.

Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy is the ministerial department that promotes and protects consumer interests throughout the UK, while ensuring that businesses are fair and competitive. Its mission is to make markets work well for consumers, ensuring vigorous competition between fair-dealing businesses and prohibiting unfair practices such as rogue trading, scams and cartels.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is responsible for the regulation of the consumer credit industry
